Publisher description

The software belongs to the class "Network Tools & Utilities - IP Switcher tools". The tool is useful, above all, for mobile Internet users who travel often between different locations or, as a matter of routine, must connect to one or another LAN/WLAN at a single location. The tool helps in particular when several network connections (NICs) are available in the multi-homed notebook and, therefore, several LANs/WLANs are configured for IP at the same time and can be accessible. With the ActiveLAN IP Switcher tool, one of several Network Adapters or Connection Profiles can be enabled dynamically (on-demand). After the activation of a profile, the selected network is accessible for all new-started or re-launched applications. The other interfaces available in the PC remain logically "disabled" (temporarily suspended, inaccessible) for local applications under Windows. The disabled LANs/interfaces remain suspended while any other interface is enabled by the tool. A LAN can be enabled any time with a mouse click on its profile in the GUI. Then the roles will be changed: the LAN/interface of the selected profile will be enabled (active) and all others disabled (suspended). Switching between the profiles, the tool changes automatically in the same step the Proxy settings of the Internet Explorer (IE) and Mozilla Firefox, so that the proxy settings in your browser become adapted for the used LAN. The software runs under Windows XP, 2000, Vista.
